Terms & Conditions

Introduction

Welcome to Scopus Publication Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of https://scopuspublicationservices.com/ and any services you request from us. By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, or purchasing a service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. Service-specific proposals, written quotations, or agreements may supplement these Terms. If there is a conflict, the applicable signed or expressly accepted service agreement will govern to the extent of that conflict.

1. Our Services

Scopus Publication Services may offer academic and publication-related services such as journal selection assistance, manuscript editing and proofreading, formatting, language refinement, submission-related assistance, publication consultation, and other services described on our website or in an agreed proposal.

The precise scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for each engagement will be confirmed in the relevant service description, quotation, or written agreement. We may update, modify, or discontinue website content or services, subject to any existing contractual commitments.

2. No Guarantee of Journal Acceptance or Indexing

Editorial decisions are made independently by journal editors, publishers, reviewers, and other relevant organizations. We do not control those decisions and do not guarantee acceptance, publication, a particular publication date, citation count, impact factor, ranking, or continued indexing of any journal.

Any estimated timelines or outcomes shared by us are indicative only unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Journal indexing status and publication requirements can change; clients should verify current information directly with the relevant journal, publisher, or indexing database.

3. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that all information and materials you provide are accurate, lawful, and authorized for use. You agree to:

  • Provide complete and accurate project details, author information, and instructions.
  • Ensure that you have the rights and permissions needed to share manuscripts, data, figures, and other materials.
  • Ensure that your research complies with applicable ethical requirements, institutional rules, and journal policies.
  • Review deliverables promptly and provide clear feedback within agreed timelines.
  • Make all final decisions about authorship, research claims, journal choice, and manuscript submission.
  • Avoid requesting or using our services for plagiarism, fabricated data, manipulated results, false authorship, duplicate submission, or other academic misconduct.

We may decline or suspend work where materials or instructions appear unlawful, misleading, unethical, or inconsistent with applicable academic standards.

4. Academic Integrity and Permitted Use

Our services are intended to support legitimate academic communication and publication preparation. Clients remain responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and authorship of their research.

Unless expressly agreed and lawful, we do not authorize the use of our services to fabricate or falsify research, impersonate an author, manipulate peer review, create misleading credentials, or misrepresent publication or indexing status. Editing or language assistance does not transfer responsibility for the research or its conclusions to us.

You must comply with the policies of your institution, funder, journal, publisher, and any applicable professional body.

5. Orders, Quotes, and Scope Changes

An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing, issue an invoice or payment request, or otherwise clearly confirm that work will begin. Before work starts, please review the service scope, deliverables, fees, and expected timeline.

Requests that fall outside the agreed scope may require additional fees or a revised timeline. We will communicate material changes for approval before proceeding where reasonably practicable.

6. Fees and Payment

Fees, currencies, payment methods, and payment deadlines will be stated in the applicable quotation, invoice, or service agreement. You agree to pay the agreed fees by the stated due dates.

Unless a written agreement states otherwise, third-party charges, journal submission fees, article processing charges, translation charges, taxes, bank fees, or other external costs are not included in our service fees and remain the client’s responsibility.

We may pause work or withhold delivery where payment is overdue, subject to applicable law and any agreed payment terms.

7. Cancellation, Refunds, and Revisions

Cancellation eligibility, refund amounts, and revision entitlements depend on the service purchased, the stage of work, the deliverables already completed, and applicable law. Any service-specific refund or cancellation policy provided at purchase forms part of the agreement.

Where work has begun, any refund may account for work completed and non-recoverable costs, to the extent permitted by law. If no separate refund policy has been provided, contact us promptly to discuss the circumstances before assuming a refund is available.

Revisions are limited to the scope and number stated in your quotation or service description. Requests arising from new instructions, substantial changes to the manuscript, or additional work may incur extra fees.

8. Delivery and Timelines

We will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed timelines, provided that you supply required materials, feedback, and approvals on time. Delays caused by incomplete instructions, late client responses, third-party systems, journal processes, or events outside our reasonable control may affect delivery dates.

Any timeline provided for journal review, editorial decisions, publication, or indexing is not within our control and is not a guaranteed delivery date for our services.

9. Intellectual Property

Unless a written agreement states otherwise, you retain ownership of the original materials and intellectual property that you provide to us. Subject to full payment and any applicable third-party rights, deliverables specifically created for you under an agreed service will be made available for your use as described in the applicable agreement.

We retain ownership of our pre-existing materials, processes, templates, know-how, and tools. You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, or commercially exploit our proprietary materials without our prior written permission.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any deliverable does not infringe third-party rights.

10. Confidentiality

We will take reasonable steps to treat unpublished manuscripts and client information as confidential and to limit access to personnel or service providers who need it to perform the agreed services. Information may be disclosed where required by law, necessary to provide the service as agreed, or authorized by you.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how personal information is handled. If you require specific confidentiality terms, they should be agreed in writing before work begins.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may link to or refer to third-party journals, publishers, indexing services, payment processors, or other websites. These third parties operate independently and may have their own terms, policies, fees, and procedures. We are not responsible for their content, availability, decisions, or practices.

References to Scopus, Web of Science, publishers, journals, or other organizations do not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation unless expressly stated and verifiable.

12. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

  • Use our website or services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading purposes.
  • Submit plagiarized work, fabricated data, manipulated results, or materials that infringe third-party rights.
  • Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, affiliation, authorship, or publication history.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or interfere with website security or operation.
  • Copy, resell, or misuse our website content or proprietary materials without permission.
  • Use our services to manipulate peer review or mislead a journal, publisher, institution, or indexing organization.

We may refuse service, suspend an order, or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, subject to applicable law and any contractual obligations.

13. Disclaimers

Our website and general information are provided for informational purposes. Except where expressly stated in a written agreement and to the extent permitted by law, services are provided without guarantees of a particular academic, editorial, commercial, or publication outcome.

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate, but we do not warrant that all website content is complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. You should independently verify material information with the relevant journal, publisher, or indexing service.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scopus Publication Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, loss of profits, loss of opportunities, or losses arising from journal decisions, peer review, publication delays, changes in indexing status, or third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any other limitation of liability will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and any enforceable written agreement between the parties.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from materials you provide, your infringement of third-party rights, your unlawful use of our services, or your material breach of these Terms. This section does not apply where the loss results from our own acts or omissions to the extent liability cannot lawfully be shifted to you.

16. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the website or a service where reasonably necessary due to a breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud, legal requirements, security risks, or conduct that may compromise academic integrity. Where appropriate and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before termination, including payment obligations for work already performed.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law. For existing orders, the version accepted at the time of purchase will generally apply unless a change is required by law or agreed by the parties.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are subject to the laws applicable to the contracting entity operating Scopus Publication Services, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you. Any dispute should first be raised with us so that the parties can attempt to resolve it in good faith. The applicable courts and dispute procedures should be confirmed based on the business’s registered location and the laws that apply.
